"Internet/Underground Syncretism"
When did you get started doing graffiti/art?
"I've always been interested in lettering and typography, as well as the aesthetics of subcultures. While I've only taken an active interest in graffiti in the past few years, it was inevitable I'd fall into it as it's a clear intersection of those things. It was a natural step for me as graffiti was influential on things I've been into for much longer, like vectorheart and the aesthetics of rave culture and the demoscene."
How does art help you escape?
"For me the value of escapism in art is in utopianism and imagining new, better worlds that we can take steps toward achieving. I think escapism as distraction can be dangerous, but pessimism that just consists of wallowing in your own misery can be similarly as bad. I think a healthy amount of optimism is something we could all use right now."
Do you have favorite letters?
"Lowercase n is a favorite of mine, it's really versatile in the ways you can shape and flow it. I have files and files full of different ascii art n's. I also love the versatility in a, with its many options for uppercase and lowercase forms."
