When did you get started doing graffiti/art?

"I have always had a great interest in art in general. I lived in Paris during my childhood and I had the chance to visit different Parisian art museums during it, such as the Louvre. Which I think did make me have a wider sensitivity towards art. but I think the first time I wanted to create art was when I humbly discovered the anime Dragon Ball. I started being a big fan of the anime. And I remember tracing Goku every day on every blank paper in the house, when I was barely in kindergarten. And after that, I continued and began to want to make my own characters, my own universes etc…"

Why do you continue to do it?

"Very good question, I have never really wondered about this. I think I mainly continue to do it because I am good at it. But also I have realized for a few years now that my art could be a tool and also could have an impact on the world around me. One of my great motivations to continue now is to represent black people, especially black women in a different light than what the mainstream media often portray them."

How does it help you escape?

"Art has always been a means of escape from reality for me. I grew up in a fairly chaotic and frenzied household. Art has always been a very good way for me to cope. Make me, for a few hours, to no longer think, to soothe my mind and fixate on a single point. Making art."

What is your favorite letter?

I don't think I have a favorite letter…well I hate the first letter of my first name "r". Especially in French, how the “r” sound is really ugly I think. I might say "t" . I especially like the design of the capital "T". I like the fact that it's just two straight lines.

Describe your style in a few words:

"Quite complicated to put a label on your art…I would say: a lot of dynamic lineart, a little of textures and also only black people. One of my friends said that my art looks something like an emo kid from the 2000’s would draw. So there is that."
